Have you ordered or received your new XL-H1A or XL-H1S?
I noticed that Michael Galvan had his, wondered how many other members have pulled the trigger, so to speak, on the newer versions of this camera?
I ordered my new XL-H1A today from DVinfo.net sponsor Tapeworks Texas (http://www.tapeworkstexas.com/). It was my first time to do business with this outfit and I have to tell you I'm very impressed so far with their customer service. Kudos to my sales rep, Dan, for going the extra mile to make sure I was happy and that I'll have the camera in time for an upcoming assignment in Argentina. I can't wait to get my hands on this new rig! NOTE: I have ordered just about all my big ticket items/equipment over the last several years from B&H to avoid paying sales tax and of coarse do business with a legit company. I do, however like to trade "locally" when I can but tax on say $8k can be as much as $640! I found out a while back that many major video/film equipment purchases in Texas (and who knows, maybe other states, you would just have to check in your case) are tax exempt for the production of films/TV and many other uses. Just go to the Texas Film Commission web site (http://www.governor.state.tx.us/divi...s/salestax.htm) and download this form...http://www.governor.state.tx.us/divi...on/01-3392.pdf It fells pretty good to be able to do business with not only a sponsor of this web site which has been a huge help to me over the last few years but also a local bunch who really appreciates the business. I highly recommend them.

I have been talking with that same retailer and he has gone above and beyond to answer all my questions. I am about to pull the trigger on ordering mine soon. I have been totally impressed by the time and suggestions they have had. I am looking forward to doing business with them. I was going to buy from B&H for the tax cut but after the kind of presales attention Scott Cantrell has given me I will buy it from Tapeworks Texas for sure.

What a day...
Three "shipments" landed in one day. A bunch of needed goodies from B & H. A new camera bag from eBay. ($225 bag, tags hanging, brand new...$77!) And last but not least, my new XL-H1A. I was like a kid on Christmas morning this afternoon! I can't wait to start rolling some footage with this new rig. Thanks again to DVinfo.net sponsor, Tapeworks Texas, for their great customer service on this order. I will be doing business with them again.

I've been to the tapeworks site a few times and still can't find any info on these new Canon models. What gives?

Travis,
I think they told me something about being in the process of updating their web site. I would just give them a call. Their pricing is the same as what everyone else sells the new Canon products for, so there is no bargain to be found, just very professional minded customer service. I'm glad I called them!

Congratulations on your purchase. I've become quite fond of my new XL-H1S. It will be put to the test this September on a feature, but I'm not worried :)

Got mine 2 weeks ago. What a deal! I was at the WEVA expo and went to the tradeshow. There was B&H offering the XL-H1A for 5499., I couldn't resist. It is an amazing camera. Too bad the price was only temporary.

Tapeworks Texas Shines in my book
I just picked up my new XL-H1A today from DVinfo.net sponsor Tapeworks Texas (TapeWorks Texas). Scott Cantrell has been answering numerous questions I had about the camera and gear I wanted to order. Scott has been walking me through each of the items before purchase for some time now. I believe since June, I was not sure if I wanted this XLH1a camera or the XHA1 and Scott helped me make my decision.
We put the order in and shipping was seamless. I went to pick up all the gear and Scott once again gave me a 101 in everything and my experience was that Tapeworks Texas has some of the best service I can remember. They know that consumers have many choices these days and I feel that this is the best money I have spent in a long time. They are a model for how people should be treated in todays world. Thank You Scott Cantrell and Tapeworks Texas, you most certainly have a customer for life.
