blackmagic
http://www.blackmagic-design.com/pro...videorecorder/
thinking of using one of these with my H1 for the purpose of getting better 4:2:2 color (Some of the work I do is specifically for the Web) but, there seems to be a Full Resolution button. the SDI is not HD SDI, but it says the video is capable of recording 1024. might not there be a way to record HD video with wider colorspace through one of these...? Alas, it's so close, is there no cigar here? |

Dear John,
The SDI version of the Blackmagic recorder states that it records SD-SDI only, not HD-SDI. Both of these are very interesting devices, but neither will handle the 4:2:2 HD-SDI signal out of an XL H1.

Dear John,
I was really surprised by these two devices. Maybe BlackMagic will come out with a HD-SDI version, or a version that will support the HD component outputs of most HD cameras.
