Portable DTE Recorder vs. mini HDV tape

Is there any difference in quality between footage shot on mini HDV tapes vs. a DTE recorder like Firestore's FS-4Pro HD?

Capturing footage is bottlenecking my flow and I was hoping to drag & drop.

I'm shooting in 24F on my H1.

There is no difference in image quality. The ideal situation is to record to both tape and FireStore at the same time. The tape is your back-up copy and your archive. The FireStore is your edit-ready copy.
