Hvr-m35u
Will the new Sony HVR-M35U deck support 24f?
It says 24p...but not 24f. (fingers crossed)

Will,
Best guess is no. The HDV 24P Sony format is within the HDV 60i Stream with a pulldown. The HV20 records the same thing and should be compatible. 24F and 30F are actually recorded to tape without pulldown on the XLH1 and XHA1/G1 and Sony hasn't supported it. Theoretically 24F/30F is better since there are no wasted frames of Data to interpolate. Still worth testing compatibility though in case Sony snuck it in. |

none of the current Sony decks play 24 or 25f.
I was hoping the new ones would... but the more I think about it we could just get 10 hv10 cameras and set them on the shelf until the current two go out. With Final Cut's new HDV->Prores trick I guess there really isn't much need for the deck anymore.
