Can JVC recorded MiniDV SD be played back on XL-H1? at DVinfo.net

Hello,

I'm wondering if an SD MiniDV tape that was recorded on a JVC GR-D290U could safely be played back on a Canon XL-H1 without hurting either the original tape or XL-H1?

I'm pretty sure it can. I was using a JVC HD10 and later a DVX100a, Z1u, FX1 and V1u to capture footage shot over the years with an old XL1 I used to own.
