24F and Avid
I just shots some stuff on a XL H1 in 24F, and now the producer wants to know how to capture it using AVID. So far, when I comb this forum and Avid's, it seems AVID Xpress 5.7.2 only supports 30F.
Is that the latest version? I feel like I'm to blame because I pushed for this camera and now he can't capture it with his NLE. Thanks. |

Did you shoot SD or HD ?
If you shot HD....and that's my assumption (hate to assume...but)... you can use the Convergence Design box... http://www.convergent-design.com/ It takes the firewire output of the H1...converts the signal to HD SDI with embedded audio ch. 1 and 2. If you're editing into an Avid Adrenaline or the likes with HD SDI inputs...you're set. If you want a TRUE 24 timeline...I think you're out of luck....I haven't tried it...but I don't think the Avid will accept it. If you shot SD....well...just play back the tape in any DV deck...it conforms to the standard DV standards (even with the 24f format)... Again...can't capture true 24....but you get the pull down version. |
