FCP HD on the XLH1
I've just started using the latest version of FC studio and what a fantastic group of programs they are.
I'm able to import HD footage but I can't find an easy setup in HD to playback through the camera. As always, grateful for any help. Chris |

Assuming you are in the timeline you want exported...
1.use the same preset you captured with 2.put the camera in VCR mode 3.connect the camera via firewire 4.print to tape.

I don't believe there's any setting which will playback HDV in real time using FCP. Realtime standard definition playback over firewire is possible, but not HDV. I'm still on version 5, but as I understand it FCP 6 has added a new feature to monitor HDV at standard definition over firewire, but not at high definition.
You can print the edited video to tape, but you can't monitor over firewire in HD as you edit. |
