Film Noir Settings

I am making a B&W film noir for a local festival. Does any one have any suggestions for presets to create that classic film noir look. Plus, any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I figured I would ask in here about how I would go and light it as well, just in case anyone knows. Thanks. (BTW, I am using After Effects so I might be able to cook something up in there...)
