Recording from DVR to XL2
Anyone know how I can record from my Tivo unit onto tape using my XL2?
What kind of cable do I need? I have a firewire cable I use to import video onto my hard drive but the connector does not fit the back panel of the DVR unit. Does such a cable exist? Has anyone else recorded from a DVR to camera? Thanks in advance for your help. Chuck |

I don't know about TIVO but most DVR's don't 'send' through firewire. Your manual should tell you. In which case, you'll have to go composite or s-video into your XL2

Richard's correct. You'll need to use the analog composite or s-video from the back of your tivo (most likely what's hooked up to your TV) and hook it up to you XL2 and record that way.
If you're simply looking to get the video into a computer for editing you may want to look into some Tivo hacks to transmit that video over a network. Good luck.
