Balanced Signal with XL2

Hi guys,

I thought I'd post my question over here. I have a Canon XL2 and Sennheiser ME64/K6 microfon. I need to record a concert and want the best possible sound quality. So my question is, do I get a balanced (symmetric) signal by connecting the Sennheiser ME64/K6 to my Canon XL2 (XLR plugs) by using a 3 pole XLR cable?

Is it as simple or that or do I need to consider other aspects as well and need some extra equipments?

Thank guys, you're the best!!
