Mix xl1s and xl2 any problems in 4.3?
I'm about to buy a xl2 to team up with my XL1s any issues I should know about? Shooting 4.3 most of the time.

I shot a doc with an XL1 and Xl2. I found the footage from the 1 to be a little cooler, perhaps a tad more cyan or greenish, and the 2 seemed a bit warmer. But you can get a good match between the two with the XL2 settings.

Matching the XL1s & XL2 in 4:3 mode is no problem at all. The XL2 also can be used as smaller overlay 16:9 clips on top of the XL1s clips in 4:3 mode, or visa versa. Matching colours etc is also quite easy using the XL2 presets.
In full frame clips, the XL2's extra sharpness does show however - so if it is important to the subject, and you have more XL1s footage than XL2 footage, it may be wise to lower the XL2 sharpness down a few notches. |
