Transfer using diferent quality camera??? at DVinfo.net

I own a XL2 but I like to use an inferior quality and price MiniDV camera as a desk. (To make longer the XL-2’s life)

I need to know is there any loss in video/audio quality in this transfer.

In theory, no.

The only issue you may have is if the XL2 can record in DVCAM mode and you made DVCAM recordings. Some consumer miniDV camcorders can play DVCAM but not all.

If your XL2 recordings are regular DV, you shouldn't have any issues.
