focus ring sound
My focus and zoom ring makes a hiss sound when it is turned (not the internal lens noises), as if the ring is rupping against the lens body or there is dirt underneath it, I haven't got to try out any other XL2s so I don't know if its common. Do I have a problem or do they all do that?
Thanks. |

Try zooming with the ring first, then use the wireless remote or a LANC controller. Compare the two sounds, are they different?? If so, there must be something jamming up the ring making the noise. If not, it's probably just the normal servo noise.

I know its not the servo making the noise, I think I have dirt underneath the focus and zoom ring.

Looks like its time for a trip to the repair shop then for an internal lens cleaning. Good luck.
