XL 2 and Firestore FS 4 Pro Help
ok I just got a XL 2 and a Firestore FS 4 Pro I can not get it to record in 16:9 I am using Edius in my PC. PLEASE HELP. I am in the video business 25 years I can't get all this new digital stuff maybe its time for me to sell my business and retire

well i got my answer from Focus.The FS 4 Pro is not compatible with the XL 2 16:9 since it only records 16:9 in the HD mode and the XL 2 is not HD. It works fine with 4.3

Gee, I'll check, but I don't think that is correct at all! All I ever shot was 16:9.

Hi Alan. The firestore shouldn't do anything to change the data in the clip, so it's just a matter of interpreting the pixel aspect ratio properly.
If you right-click on the clip in the Edius timeline, you can set the properties to widescreen. See if that helps. Richard |

Alan, I have been using XL2 and Firestore FS 4 Pro many times without any problems recording 16:9. Importing the stuff to the editing suite is seemless to me, I'm using Avid Liquid.
Just remember to set the timeline in Edius for your recorded file to 16:9. You should also check what file format to record for use in Edius.
