This Capturing Cam Work OK?

Yes, I was wondering if anyone has ever used a canon mv 430i for transfering footage to hardrive? Looking at one on german ebay at the moment. I picked up a jvc cam for this purpose and it doesn't appear to be compadable with what my XL2 records. Seems there may be a slight difference in head alighnment or something. Any recomendations on what's worked well for somebody else? I just don't want to get another that just won't be compadable with what my cam records. Thanks.
