Sound khz mixing?
If I shoot using my XL2 set with the sound on 16- bit 48 kHz and collect backup sound on a Mini disc which records sound at 44.1 kHz, am I likely to run into any problems when mixing in the editing or if I should submit my film for broadcast etc ?

Hi Joe. Shouldn't be a big deal, but if your NLE doesn't like you mixing sample rates, it's quite easy to convert the 44.1 to 48 without any apparent quality loss. I normally use Sound Forge or Vegas for this, but I think there are freebie sample rate converters available for download.
There should not be any impact on the final output format as this will be rendered anyway. Richard |
