Custom presets
Does any body have any new presets for canon XL2 that I can try. I have downloaded the ones on watchdog site, but I need to find some really god ones.
I would also like to know if there is a hood that you can use on 20X lens so that you can use creative filters. Is there a club that you could join and shot videos and share them in Ontario Canada Thanks Kenneth |

Ken, i would recomend AGAINST using filters on cam unless its a UV, Polarizer or softener... oh and gradient ND filter and a Star filter coz they come in handy...
what ur looking for is a MatteBox.. i dont think youll need french flags, but most of the "filmaking" matteboxes have slots to insert ur filters.. as for presets, chekc out some settings for the HD101 and DVX100/HVX200 Theyre all pretty similar in set up, but i prefer a leveled range of colour and exposure. If i need ot tweak withit, i ahve the widest possible choices by working this way (ie post prod filtering, colour grading etc etc) This way what might look ok on the viewfinder, may not look so crash hot on screen, at least by doing it in post, u can chop and change as u go along without killing ur source.. |

Matteboxes arent cheap (for the good ones) and to be honest i wouldnt worry to much about them for event work.. Filters can be bought which screw or clip straight onto the camera. Kokin make a filter rack which works a treat and Kokin themselves have a variety of filters which u can mix and match and combine. most stuff can be bought from site sponsors (click the banners on this site), and i wont mention anyone else coz if i do, i'll get into trouble.. lol |

Ken-
There are quite a few presets that have been posted previously in this forum. As you probably already know you can download a few at http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=48287 If you spend 20 of 30 minutes searching through posts on this forum you will find a lot of others. Ash Greyson has posted a few along with some others. I have attached (in a zip file) the ones that I have collected from this forum - including the ones that you will find in the above link. I have tried to give credit to the authors (when I could) of each one. Oh yes... you will need the Blue Barn software to transfer these to your XL2. Tim
