Any EQ-XL1 equalizer users?
Has anybody used the EQ-XL1 Equalizer on their XL2? I am looking to cut down on wind noise while shooting outdoor scenics etc. The only sound I need to capture is ambient not dialog. Does this work on the XL2 mic? If so, how well does it work? I have been considering making a wind sock as shown in the Digital Video Hacks book, but I stumbled across this on the Canon site.
To preempt the suggestions, I will ask the question here. Would I be better off getting a better mic (shotgun?) and making a wind sock for that? My goal is to make time lapse videos of nature with the occasional static realtime shot thrown in for good measure. Kind of like Sunrise Earth with time lapse. So my sound focus is ambient. I am not too worried about dialog etc. I am using the XL2 on manual audio levels. Colin |
