What Good Settings For 30p?
I'm about to begin shooting a project that will be shot with my XL2 at the 30p framerate. What is the recommended shutter speed? I noticed that it defaulted to 1/30. I've done most of my shooting in 24pn, and generally keep it a 1/48 shutter. I did some test shooting with 30p the other day at the 1/30 shutter setting. I noticed after reviewing the footage, that it had a film like stobe effect on pans. Which I don't have a lot of problem with, but the project I'm shooting will have scenes with some action type movement to it. So the strobing might possibly be a problem visually. Any suggestions?

Personally, I think 1/30 is too slow. I usually set my shutter speed to 1/60 when using 30p.

thanks for the tip. I'll give that a test to see how it looks on pans.
