35mm adaptor or 16x Manual Lens

I've recently been ponding what to purchase next. I like the 16x lens because it is fully manual and it'd be a great tool to have. But lately I've been thinking whether I should get a 35mm adaptor with the ground glass instead. This would be for independent film use and maybe wedding or corporate videos when the bills pile up.

I was wondering what peoples experiences have been using various 35mm adaptors (like the letus which I saw a clip from and it looked awesome) and the 16x lens which would be good but doesn't give me shallower depth of field, but more easily repeatable control. Input would be great (I already own some Nikon F mount lens for my SLR)
