HD converting to SD?
I'm thinking of buying an XL2 for a feature, but I hear that down conveting from HD to SD looks alot better. My question is how much better and will you notice the difference? If that is the case then I might think about getting the Z1 then down convert to be able to edit. The only reason I'm going the SD route is due alot of equipment upgrade if I go HD and I don't have the budget for that yet.

Perhaps I'm missing something
Standard definition is standard definition. When working with analog, it makes sense to come in high (i.e. Super VHS) because of losses in editing and the final output. Digital, however has no such losses. DVDs are not adequate to store any reasonable length filming in HD so even if you film in HD, your final output is more than likely going to be SD. I personally wouldn't mess with taking HD to SD.
