My XL2 arrives in two days...

...and I'm excited!

My last Camera was the Optura 200MC. I loved it! It had great features for an inexpensive camcorder.

Well, I downloaded the XL2 manual and on page 49 it discusses the user bit (a hexidecimal number). The manual reads, "This is useful for labeling tapes." I'm a little confused. Can someone explain what practical use the user bit has?
