Ok to Disconnect LANC Remote Controller Live?

Hey Everyone. During wedding or live events, I need to frequently unmount my XL2 from the tripod and go shoulder mount. Consequently, I connect and disconnect my Varizoom remote lens controller a lot with the camera still in record mode and running.
Anyone hear of problems doing this? I hear about blowing circuitry by unmounting the lens with the camera on, and It got me to thinking about LANC devices...
Thanks.

Rick,

There is likely not going to be anything blown except your footage if, in the act of unplugging the lanc cable it glitches the camera into PAUSE or shifts the focus in some way. LANC is a serial data stream. But, I would recommend going to standby while plugging or unplugging. You would only be off-line for a couple seconds and hopefully have a second camera shot to provide coverage.

I guess it boils down to the old saying...'use at your own risk'.
