loud speakers
hello everyone ,
im gonna be shooting an overseas wedding soon and in order to get the best sound out of this party the camera must be hooked to a really loud speakers, is there any potential danger on doing this? and if yes what is the best way to get a decent sound out of those things? thanx |

well...
we really need more information on the audio setup. you will want to know impeadance, balanced or unbalanced, connectors etc. there is no real easy answer to that without more detailed information. |

if i understand you correctly,
The board or amp running the speakers should have a separate audio out, like a 'monitor out' that can be controlled separately from the mains. You would run this out to your camera and adjust accordingly. |

Call ahead and find out what kind of system they're using. You will want to run a cable from the mixer to your camera. On the board, it will usually be labelled "tape out." You could also use "control room out" if it exists as well as the aux outs, but that's getting complicated, so I won't go there (unless you want me to).
Under no cicumstances should you run anything out of an amp into the camera - you'll fry it with the higher power. Some amps will have a monitor out, but just for sake of safety, unless you're positive you know where you're plugging things in, go for the audio mixer and ask the audio technician for assistance. |
