White Balance & Custom Presets
Should you do manual white balance with the presets turned off on the XL2 ? i.e. if you have a preset in place, does white balance take into account preset settings or are the presets post-white balance functions ?

Good question... there is no right answer. I personally associate a WB with whatever look I am after. I use various warm cards to make it consistent. It is probably best to do your presets with pure white but just be wary that a warm/cold WB will effect the overall look.

A good question Declan, I assume the white balance is before the presets, but I hope we get a definite answer from somebody in the know.
I suppose you could just go ahead and check with a decent monitor |
