What to do with my XL1s?

Wow, I haven't been back to the forum in a very long time. Life got busy and I haven't been able to work on any video projects in a while. Time to back into it, but first I need to decide what to do with my old gear.

I got an XL1s. Haven't used it in at least 6-8 years.
Should I sell it? Does anyone still shoot with it? Is there a marketing for it? Or does it belong in a museum?

Re: What to do with my XL1s?

Check recent ebay auctions for an idea as to what an XL1s commands on the market.

I suspect a few people doing SD video still shoot with it, but likely not many. It dates back to around 2001 or so.

If you are delivering SD video and it still works use it.

The ones in really good codition fetch $200-300 on eBay. Mine sits on a shelf at the office. I look at it sometimes and it pleases me.

Probably not a huge market for it, but they are listed on ebay. I sold a Canon GL2 a few years ago, buyer said he did church livestreaming in SD & it fit his needs. About $200-300 is about what you can expect for these, and my guess is they may sit for a while until you find a buyer.
