Forbes,
I recently sent my XL2 to Canon Factory Service in NJ. Here's what I did; - Called 1-800-OK-CANON and connected with the XL owners club department. Provided my membership number and was passed on to a representative. - After I described the problem they gave me a return authorization number (RMA). Make sure you write this down correctly and put it on the box and all correspondence. - I was told to include a letter of explaination, contact info, copy of proof of purchase, and only the camera body (in my case). - Needless to say, they also requested it be packed very carefully. Hope this helps. Kevin
