Repeating frames?

I'm noticing that some of my footage has repeated frames, what's causing this? is this normal? its causing really jerky movement.

That's how you get 24 or 30P into a 60i wrapper. It's called pull down. You should not see this in 60i mode, only when shooting 24 or 30 frame progressive. Your NLE will either remove this automatically, or you'll need to tell it to remove the pulldown.
