what lens to get
hi,
i'm about to do a job were i need a lens that is as wide as possible. what would be best, the 3x original canon vdo lens or to get the adapter and an ef lens. or something else? i talked to a photographer and he tlaked about some "ferm 14 lens" (thats what the guy called it, i dont know the propper name on it) this lens was for a didgital slr. i'm about to get a tele lens in a while as well so maybe the adapter for ef lenses would save up a bit but what about quality? i chatted w. bh, but the vdo guy told me to ask the photo guys. but i thought i would try here first. if my questions dont make sence or if it seams like i lost it please tell me. tanks for any help tom |

An EF lens doesn't work for you since it is magnified 7.2 times. So a 20mm lens
would become a 144mm lens. I would say the 3x wide angle lens would probably be the best indeed. There are also screw on adapters for the 16x or 20x lens to convert it to a more wide angles lens.

ok thanks,
how wide, degree, %, is the 3x i only had small cameras and the screw on lenses were described in % 0.45 etc. and they all gave vinjetting. and i guess that the screw on for the 20x lens would do the same or? i read about the info that bh gave but it was not that much just that its a 3x lens. and they had one second hand, 3x. i'm kinda spacing out here. i bought most my stuff from bh but never 2nd hand. it was listed as a 9 so that is almost new. but is it worth saving the $270? |
