Xl2 year of manufacture
Howdy, I bought one recently, and curious to know if anyone has any info on how to determine year of manufacture? The serial number doesn't look helpful. Is it worthwhile contacting Canon?

Check out this article from Chris. At least you know if it was manufactured before or after 21 December 2004.

My understanding is that the manufacture date can be determined from the serial number, but not in a way that is readable by an end user. Calling Canon should provide the information.
