Polarizer lens

Hi,

Deep in the posts there is a discussion about a warm polarizer for shooting in bright sunlight.

The cost is about a $100 dollars(at that time). I think I would like to purchase one, but knowing virutally nothing about these cameras I was wondering if I will be able to use it on a HD camera when eventually I make the move, or is this lens made specifically for the Xl2

Similar, question relates to the wide angle lens. If I purchase one of these will I be able to use it on a Canon HD camcorder or is it only specific to the Xl2.

Thanks in advance.

For wideangle, make sure you spend good money on a filter/lens. I got a cheap-o and it was a piece of junk.

Here's two articles that may help you:
Polarizers

B-Y Polarizer

Note the issue with wide angle is the uneveness of the filtering effect and the thickness of the rings vignetting.

you can hardly use a polarizer on a wide angle and get good results.
getting a wide view means you get the light from very different direction, hence different polarization.
You can try a cheap pola from ebay for less than $15 and decide by yourself if it is ok to spend more to get eventually less flare, better color by getting better glass, multi coating (on both faces), and thinner frame.
