question concerning wireless mic.

I am doing a shoot with a friend that is kayaking. What I want to do is seal mt transmitter in a waterproof bag, seal the bag around the wire. (please don't tell me this isn't a good idea), I go kayaking all the time with a 2 way radio strapped to my vest, which is ina bag), what I need to know is will water affect the actual microphone?

Wireless mic

Chris,
Water will hurt the mic element if it gets wet. I have used balloons to cover larger hand held mics. Still sounds ok. You may try something similar for a lav. I assume you're using a lav. If you just want nat sound put it all in a bag and use gaffer tape to control bag noise.
