Canon's Dv-Pc software is missing a file
I am sure this was probably answered in another thread but here we go. I have an XL2 and use Sony Vegas for editing...affordable for right now. I am having trouble downloading my minidv tapes to my hard drive. I have to go through vegas and download the vids each time. I have tried Canon's Dv-Pc software but there is a missing file and I cant find it anywhere to make it work. So, long story short, how can I download all my tapes to my hard drive for later editing?

I have used in the past this little freeware programme DVIO which stands for DV in and out.
Carr Engineering, Inc. DVIO - Digital Video Input Output It copies avi type 1 and 2 files via the IEEE 1394. It's pretty basic, no monitor or anything. But I found it got me out of a jam several times when I had a XL1 and a XL1s. Have never needed to use it on the XL 2 Full instructions are on his site. All the best with it. (32kb) It's tiny.
