Cleaning the recording head?
Hello everyone,
It was once suggested that the heads be cleaned before first use of the XL2. I purchased a head cleaner (Panasonic) and although it mentions how to clean the playback head (play for 10 sec), it doesn't say anything about the record head. Even the manual doesn't specifically mention cleaning the recording heads. Since I saw it referenced in a post before the need to clean the heads to ensure no problems when recording your first images, I assume that the record heads need to be cleaned. Is this an incorrect assumption? Is there anything anywhere that talks about how to clean the record heads or if it is necessary? Thanks, Kelly |

Hi Kelly. The recording and playback heads are mounted on the same rotating drum, so it seems to me that if you clean one you clean all.
