No SDK?

Is the XL2 SDK thing dead again? Its now gone off the Canon page. Any ideas?

No idea...there must be a reason for this SDK game, but I can't fathom it.

My guess, (which is completely Uneducated and purley conjecture), is that the Software Developers kit is being held onto until Canon must announce an HDV cam. Perhaps with a software upgrade and new, HD lens, the non-firing pixels can be activted, releasing HDV on the XL2... if that is even possible.

Just a guess, but perhaps they received a big response already and have pulled the notice because they have more applicants than they can handle. Remember the SDK is not an "end user" piece of software. It's a developer's kit for companies in the business of writing software. Now it's up to those applicants that have responded to the SDK offer. They're the ones who will create programs for the XL2 community to use.

Like DV Rack being able to save MANY setups and invoke them through the attached Firewire?

Yeah, I think that would be one very good example of a crucial offering from a software company that has the SDK.
