How to Acheive the Eyes Wide Shut Look

I was watching eyes wide shut and I love the way it looks photography wise... What is it that gives it its unique look? Is it a wide angle lens? Is it that Kubrick used 70-mm posed to 35? Is it something else?
Furthermore, If I wanted to make my digital film look as close to it as I could. What should I do with my XL2 to achieve as similar as possible?

Anyone have ideas?

The late great Mr Kubrick had a strong affection for 10mm -ish lenses, usually shot from slightly lower than normal height. In XL2 terms this would equate to 2.0- 2.5mm. The best lens attachment you could possibly get to achieve this is a Zeiss Distagon Aspheron

Tyson, that's the aspect ratio of the frame. 4:3 in this case, same as a normal TV set. In other words, it was standard 35mm, not panavision or superscope, which would be much wider than it is tall.

Probably, by "OAR," he meant "Original Aspect Ratio."
