Yes its under warranty but they won't pay for "damage"... they claimed they could tell the pins were bent/broken by a pull on the connector.

mine was connected but i didnt step on or bend anything
just didnt work i got a email back from canon they told my to try plugging the can in to another pc and to msg them back after i do i hope i dont have to pay i just spent 5400 on this thing lol thanks Dick cheers

well i got my camera back finally they had to replace the mainboard but it didnt fix my problem reallly.
they got rid of the flashing "DV IN" but windows still can not see the camera being thier so i brought it back in and he hes said my dv control was off and he turned it on. I told him ive already done that and he said if it doesnt work to bring it back in to him tomorrow. i thought when you bring stuff in they are spost to make sure shit work befor they get you to pick it up amd waste gas and time anywho...im going to bring it back in tomorrow thanks for listening to me babble LOL cheers Mike

That's why I spent a couple hundred extra for a cheap little dv camera. I am just too scared to use my $5000 investment as a video deck.
