Panasonic SDX900 vs. XL2
Today's client is doing a film style video shoot in our studio.
They are using two cameras, the panasonic SDX-900 w/ a Fuji HD lens and a stock XL2 with the standard 20X. Now realize that the SDX-900 is the 'next step' higher than the DVX100a in the Panasonic line for a mere $25,0000 withOUT lens. That Fuji HD lens is another $20-25K!!! The challenger is the $5000 XL2 with stock 20X. Both cameras are set to 16x9 at 24fps. The SDX owner is SHOCKED at how good the XL2 looks and how close it's image is to his camera. The color is almost exact withOUT tweaking. The XL2 is slightly softer, but only production people would ever be able to notice any real difference between $50K and $5K. I now want an XL2 even more than before.
