Bottom Line is: How's the Picture Quality?

I have read a couple of first impression reviews here and it seems the ergonomics of the XL2 leave something to be desired, as well as its autofocus.

But my primary concern is, is the picture quality outstanding? Which is a better investment for 24P and cinema curves -- the DVX 100A or the XL2?

How does it look? Does the native 16x9 yield a better image or not?

Comments? Opinions? Comparisons?

This topic has been of much discussion in this forum. Please take
the time to look around. As always better is a very subjective
word to use. What might look better to me might not look as good
to you, for example.

1. the quality of the images is very good (otherwise Canon would not have shipped the camera yet as well!)

2. yes, 16:9 does give you an increased resolution (whether or not this is "better" [as to what??] is up to you)

3. from the numerous threads here it sounds like people still like the cinema curves on the DVX better. But personally I'd much rather do that tweaking in post.

As said there are much threads on the subjects some even with
a movie or two with both XL2 and DVX footage on the same
subjects.
