XL2 in Bulk???
I know that many already have one of these in hand, but has anyone considered having people who want to buy one of these things all get together so we could maybe get a better price?
I have no idea how much Canon would make you buy to get a deal, but I imagine that some of the larger stores might give you a break too. The logistics of something like that would probably be a little complicated, but it's just a thought. Jeremiah |

You mean a forum group buy?
It's possible. You could contact B&H and see how many people they'd want to make something happen.

Yup
That's precisely what I had in mind.
Might be able to save a few hundred dollars. Jeremiah |

A bulk purchase would mean all cameras shipped to one address (that's the only way any dealer is going to agree to do it). Whose address is that going to be, and how will you handle shipping charges and shipping insurance for each participant? Somebody will have to play the "middle man."

I have for years worked with a very reputable video supply house in New England and I think they would be willing to deal with a bulk order that had individual BANK checks sent to them for cost of equipment and shipping. I recently received a single order quote from them that was lower by a few hundred $ than I've seen advertised and feel that might be improved upon with quantity. I honestly don't know what the lowest available price is and am not sure if I would get them in trouble for listing their quote on line. I deal with them because they have always give me good prices (though I have bought a LOT of stuff) and their service and support is excellent.

The only thing I will ask of you guys is that if your source turns out to be a dealer who is NOT a DV Info Net sponsor, to please organize yourselves via private email and take this discussion off of our boards.
Interested parties would be advised to contact the thread starter by email for more details. Thanks in advance, |

Like any other authorized Canon dealer, our sponsors are lucky just to have the XL2 for sale. They are hard to come by. I'll ask EVS, Zotz and ZGC, but again, it'll come down to shipping to one location and who is going to handle shipping from there to each participant? Basically you're introducing a middle man to the process and I don't think it's worth the trouble.
