canon xl2 audio
Hi guys. I start to use this camera few days ago...It's great in any possible sense..But I don't understand the audio system..What mean phantom power?. Why I need to buy mics with phantom power?..I need advice to make the audio presets of the camera to record and edit...By the way I was looking for the wireless sony wcs-999 for interviews but I'm not shure ...Any recommendation in mics and audio of the camera will be very welcome...thanks..

Some of the microphons need power to operate. They have a battery inside or you can feed the power from your camcorder. It is the phantom power.

You don't "need" mics with phantom power, but if you have them, they're compatible with the XL2. If you don't know about phantom power, don't worry about it.
