New Canon XL2 and Software?

WOOOHOOOO!!!!

I just took delivery on an XL2. Haven't had much of a chance to check it out, hope to do that in the next few days. Superficially, it seems very much like the XL1s, but, with a lot more available controls, not deeply embedded in drop down menus. The aperture "thumbwheel" seems cheaper than on the XL1s, that's a disappointment, it's loose and sloppy feeling.

I've tried to register, online, to the XL Series Owner's Club. Canon appears to not link any webpages to the XL2 that direct me to registration. I'm interested in downloading the PC-DV software. Anyone have a URL for registration and download?

Got a reply from Canon stating that they don't have the XL2 registration site up yet!? I did find a free download of V1.0 on the Canon Japanese website...too bad it's in Japanese....;o)

Bill,

Seems the Canon USA website isn't quite up to speed on the XL2 and the "Owner's Club." Here's a link to a thread that has the Canon Europe web link in it...I've downloaded the software from there but haven't gotten around to trying it yet myself.

Cheers,
