I hope you are right. On the original XL1 low shutter speeds semmed to be more of a digital effect. I wonder if that is the case here.

Slow shutter speeds are available in 30P, but not 24P.

chris I know this will be a pain but can you list what teh shutter speeds will be, canon isn't exactly helpful in saying there will be 30 in 30p and 29 in 24p

Thanks
Nick

No sweat -- here ya go:

In 60i or 30p modes, shutter speeds are:

1/8, 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/100, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000, 1/2000, 1/4000, 1/8000, 1/15000, plus Clear Scan

In 24p mode, shutter speeds are:

1/24, 1/48, 1/60, 1/100, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000, 1/2000, 1/4000, 1/8000, 1/15000, plus Clear Scan

Not sure about PAL version yet but I'll check.

Thanks Chris, so if my math is right there will be something like 18 Clearscan possibilities (I imagine from somewhere in the 60hz range to the 100hz range)

It would be interesting to see if the pal 25p mode goes lower then 1/25...
