DV-PC Recorder?

Any additional details on this?

I don't understand the point. If it is PC only you can do the same thing with Movie Maker, Vegas, Premiere Pro or whatever NLe you are using. That is recording AVIs directly to the hard drive.

Is it possible that this will have a special secret decoder key to turn on those non-firing pixels, to capture at uncompressed or quasi-HD 720x960?

Secret decoders (as if) would be a function of the SDK. DV-PC Recorder is simply a freebie, a way to record edit-ready files to a PC without spending a dime. It'll attract newbies. That's the idea.
