What about audio sync?

Does anyone know if the XL2 will have problems with audio sync like the XL-1 and S sometimes have?

Kudos on keeping 4-track with the 2.

Nathan, I don't what you're talking about. I've owed and used both the XL! and the XL!s and never had a synce problem.

Jay,

I believe he's referring to the reported audio sync problems during capture via firewire to the editing software, not on the tape playback itself.

Guess we'll have to wait and see.

regards,

Thanks, Greg, for the clarification. Even when capturing via firewire to my NLE, I've never seen this problem.

This is supposed to be a bigger problem with the XL-1 than the XL-1s. Hopefully, the XL-2 will have this issue eliminated.

Yep audio to the NLE.

The problem exists with XL-1 going to the NLE. It only happens on long segments (>5 minutes).

Hmmm, Just shot Seventeen hours of footage for a doc on an Xl1. Captured all of it as whole tapes. (Then let Avid subclip it with scene extraction.) Nary a problem. Captured with DSR 11 and Avid XpressPro So is it just when capturing from the Camera itself?

Or are people worried about the sync problems that the DVX100 had when it came out. About a 2frame problem as I recall.
