Hi Gilles

2/3" to XL is possible.

I actually designed this adaptor when the first Canon XL was launched.
Because you need to remove the zoom box from the lens, there was not much demand so we stopped making it.
I still have the drawings so I will get a quote for you.

Cheers

Plenty of cheap 2/3" lenses out there, and removing the handgrip is easy, so could be a good idea. As always you have the theoretical issue that a 2/3" lens won't have the resolving power to match a 1/3" chip, but often it's perfectly fine.

@mike
Due to some contacts I can test a Angenieux 8-64 lens from a baulieux super8 with compendium . cmount
since the frame size of super 8 matches nicely with the canon xl I was wondering if there is a mount converter possible fom c mount to canon xl?

Contact Les Bosher in UK. He might be able to make you one if he hasn't already the the size of adapter you want in stock.
