Peter hit it on the head -- most people are impressed by the size and intimidation factor of a camera, and the XL2 scores highly on these two points. To them, Big Camera = Pro Shooter. The good news is that the XL2 can deliver as well as look good. It draws attention wherever you go, sometimes when you don't want it. Everyone else and their dog will be shooting with consumer hand-helds, while the police come up to you and want to know what you're doing (don't laugh, it happens to me all the time).
Now, if you show up with a Scarlet, I guarantee every pro and semi-pro shooter will be impressed and find a reason to come by for a closer look. The general public won't make the connection, however. Martin
