XL2 Night Band clip.
Hey guy's here is a clip that I took on Saturday.
My neighbor had been asking me to come video his band so that they could but some video up on the net and Saturday seemed to be a good time to do it. Setting: - Just after sunset - On a Docked barge Deck on the raging Ohio River. - The flooring was wood and everytime a person walked by it shook the camera. Camera Set up: - I had to use my SLR tripod because my quick release plate was not with me. (Big oooops) - The tripod was extended upward so that I could get above the crowd. (The camera top was just below 8') This made it more shaky. - Basic setting's 30p, 30fps, white balance was on Auto, Used the mic on ch1 and XLR input for ch.2) - On a tripod I usually keep the image stabilizer off, but tonight I left it on. My biggest problem was maintaining focus (because I am not 8' tall). Because I was panning and getting the crowd the focus was not set for the entire 3 hr. show) I am posting this because several have wanted to see the XL2 and it's poor low light footage which I thought it did fine. The crowd area was very dark and the stage had 2 set's of lighting on the band. At the begging scenes there are two points I want you to notice. Look at the water rolling down the river. The barge was moving a good bit in the flowing water. Also, notice the long distance zoom on the building, the camera shake here is pretty evident even with the image stabilizer on. However, on the band you never see it even with the crowd shaking the floor. It takes it a few minutes to load the page, but it is there.
