XL2 with FX7 footage, Mix

I am considering buying a Canon XL2 and I already have a Sony HDR-FX7. I'm wondering what the footage from each camera would look like if I put them together for a small film. If anyone has done this, or has an idea I would like to know what it would look like before I actually purchase the camera. thanks

I had both cameras. I could never match any of them.

Really cannot recommend an XL2 if you already have an FX7. Your best bet is another Sony if you want the two cameras to match images. Why are you considering an XL2 in particular? For the same money you can have another Sony HD camcorder that would be a much better match for your FX7.

I chose it because I have seen some shots with it. I want something that will shoot 24p and I don't know how to change it in FCP, or even if you can. I liked that you could change lenses too. If you have any suggestions, it is much appreciated, also consider that I only have a budget of 2k. I am rather disappointed with the customization with the FX7, and I really like that the XL2 has the ability to change white balance and many other options, like frame rate and aspect ratio.
