Camera Audio Setup
Hi
Can anybody tell me how to set up my camera to record audio from my xlr that will bring in the house audio in this shoot and record from the onboard mic simultaneously I need to do this so I can do so different things in post. Thank you everybody in advance. Adam Drescher XL2 Sony Vegas 7.0 |

You have to go into 4 channel record mode which will drop your audio resolution down to 32khz/12 bit. You'll have to make sure the house mix is MIC LEVEL as the XLR jacks cannot work with line level audio on this camera. Some mixers can output mic level, others can't. Or, you can buy some 40db attenuators to put inline to get the line level signal down to acceptable levels for the XLR jacks.
